Women Troops

Once upon a time, there was a kingdom named Kirschstein. The king had a beautiful castle and best troops in that time. But he wasn’t satisfied with that, he wanted an equal among his troops--he wanted some female warriors. Because of that, he made a contest which find best female warriors to join the troops.

In the bright Monday when the contest held, a girl seen walk with a rush. She held a bow in her back. When she got closer the queue, she inadvertently crashed a blonde girl and she looked angry.

“I’m really sorry,” the first girl named Sasha said.

The blonde girl didn’t answer Sasha’s apologize. She just glared at Sasha and turned forward again.

Thirty minutes later, Sasha could get into the castle yard. The yard was so big. Everyone could enter and there was still space. The pamphlet said that the contest would be held at the yard. But the kinds of test were not announced. So they must prepare their self.

Not long after that, a man who wore troops’ uniform talked on a microphone in front of them all.

“Good morning, Ladies!” All of the contestant answer it like a choir.

“In this morning we will hold a selection for all of female who want to join the troops of Kirschstein Kingdom.” That man start talked about the contest. “We need 120 females for joining our troops. The selections are including battle skill, agility, strategy, weapon skill, and teamwork. You must pass all of that to join this troop.

“The test will not be held in this castle area, but in the North Forest,” everyone grumbled when heard this information. “So you must prepare all the thing you will be needed such as first aid kit, clothes, and food. Because that reasons, we give you time for prepare until this evening. You must be here at 5 pm to divide the team. You can go now. Good morning.” After that speech, the crowd dissolved itself.

“So, what’s the point of make that long queue just for hearing that speech?” Sasha grumbled and followed the crowd to went out the castle area. She didn’t look around until she crashed someone again.

“Hey, are you okay?” ask someone who got crashed by Sasha. But Sasha fall down.

“Nope, I’m okay,” Sasha answered with a smile.

“I am Altheda from district Cassiopeia. What is your name?” asked that girl while they are walk together.

“I am Sasha from district Andromeda,” Sasha answered.

“Are you an archer?” Altheda walked slower to see Sasha’s bow.

“Yup, but I’m not good in fight at close range,” Sasha said lightly.

“Shh, you must keep it up, you know? Everyone in here will do everything for see the other down.” Altheda noticed Sasha.

“I don’t know about that,” Sasha grinned. “There’s my horse. I’ll see you later, Altheda.”

In the Evening, everyone who attended this contest has gathered with their things. Sasha brought one bag and her bow. She entered the yard. In the yard, a half of the females who want to be a female warrior had come. Sasha put down her bag and sit down in a blank area—waiting for another announcement.

Not long after that, the man who speech in the morning show up again. But now he is with his friends and brought the plastic box that fill with paper.

“Ladies, you must choose one of this paper. This paper will show your team’s number and the order. Keep this paper safely.”

Sasha choose one paper. The paper showed number 1333 and some rules about the contest. The paper said that Sasha and another contestant should find a red flag in the forest. There are 40 flags spread by the committee of the contest. And they must found one of that and maintain it from other contestant until the outside of the forest. Sasha must found her team first. Her team has the same number with Sasha, and every team has three warriors.

Sasha thought she would be tired if she yelled her number just for find her team. So she raised her paper highly and walked around.

Not long after that, Sasha found her team. Obviously, her teammates are Altheda and a blonde girl who has crashed her in the queue. The blonde girl introduced herself as Amata from district Orion. Altheda is a good friend for talking everything, but Amata didn’t. Amata is quiet and a little bit cynical.

At 7 p.m they started walking. They are prepared their own weapons because the sun was down several times ago. Sasha, Amata and Altheda walked in the path with the other team. But when the path has end, every team found their own way.

“Where are we should go?” Altheda asked.

“We go to the North,” Amata decided and started to walk again.

“How about the West? We are only go to North. We should try the left or even the right.” Sasha denied.

“No. We go to North,” Amata replied her statement and continued to walk.

Sasha pulled back Amata’s hand and talked, “We need to go left. Maybe the flag is there.”

Altheda only watched them, but finally she open up her opinion, “Sasha, I think we should go to North. We will lost this path if we start to walk to West or East.”

Sasha glared to Altheda and started to talk again if Althea didn’t stop her. And then Altheda followed Amata with Sasha in her hand. Sasha grumbled in a whole way.

“Stop being so childish!” Amata turned back after tired hearing Sasha’s grumbled. Altheda sighed. Amata and Sasha continued had a quarrel just because a little things. Until at a big tree they found a red flag. The flag hanged at one of the branch which didn’t too high. They could reach it, but when they got closer, they heard a voice.

“We must go fast.” Altheda hold her swords and looked around.

“Stay here, Sasha. Prepare your bow and give us any signs if someone get closer to us,” Amanda said.

Sasha climbed one of the trees around there. She pulled her bow to stay alert. Amata protect Altheda’s back with a ripple in her hand. Altheda has an ideal body for fight in a close range, so she would be the in the frontline.

When Altheda and Amata getting closer with the flag, Sasha heard a voice again. She looked around but couldn’t find anything. Altheda got the flag and turned back with Amata still protected her back. Sasha followed them from the tree. Fortunately, the tree was so tight. It’s easier to make Sasha jump in.

After they’re almost reach the outside of the forest, Amata and Altheda interrupted by the other team. The team looked ruthless with big girls. They smirked to Amata and Altheda.

“Where are your friends? Is she dead?” Sasha held her breath when one of the girl almost saw her.

“Shut up and let us go,” Amata said.

“Not that easy. We can let you go if only you give us that flag.” Altheda tighten her hold to the flag and her sword.

“Never in your wildest dream.” Amata pulled out her revolver and put her rifle back. She looked ready to shoot their head.

“You just underestimate us, little girl.” The biggest girl pulled out her sword and pointed to Amata. Amata pulled to one side, Altheda take over it.

Amata started to shoot their feet to avoid serious injuries but they are too skillful. Sasha release her dart to the girl who fight with Altheda. It pierce her right hand. She looked around and found Sasha on the tree. She ordered her friend to catch Sasha.

Sasha jumped out and ran. Amata shooted the girl who almost catch Sasha. And the one was beaten by Altheda. And then, they go outside the forest.

They are cheer up for their victory and finally they’re became the female troops and live happily together.

“We are team and we are invincible!” Sasha screamed.
